VISION
KETAMINE assisted PSYCHOTHERAPY
"Recent data suggest that Ketamine, given intravenously, might be the most important breakthrough in antidepressant treatment in decades."
-Thomas Insel, Director of the National Institute of Mental Health
Ketamine is an effective and safe anesthetic, used worldwide since 1970, it is in the list of "essential medicines" of the World Health Organization. Multiple studies and tests conducted in Mt. Sinai in New York, Yale and other prestigious universities and hospitals since 1990, have shown that Ketamine is exceptionally effective in the treatment of patients with depression, PTSD, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, neuropathic pain, and other mood disorders.
Different from traditional antidepressants such as SSRIs (selective serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) that generally take 4 to 8 weeks to function (if they work at all), Ketamine acts quickly and in some cases shows effectiveness immediately after the first intravenous infusion. Due to its immediate effect, the Ketamine is extremely important in preventing suicide and immediately relieving the suffering caused by a major depressive disorder. The small doses and method of administration used to treat patients with depression differs greatly from those used in hospitals for anesthetizing patients.
Through a series of studies and legal efforts, our goal is to expand the use of Ketamine from surgery into psychotherapy in ambulatory settings.
